2006/07/21

The features in the 3.02.1590 release are:

. Native support for 64-bit Windows has been added.

The suffix 'U' identifies the 64-bit version  of the product (3.02.1591-U). 32-bit Warehouse for

Windows ( 'W' suffix ) will continue to run on both  32 and 64-bit Windows as before.

. Warehouse for the Silicon Graphics IRIX operating system ( 'I' suffix ) is no longer available.

The OS identifier (last character) in the version number of Warehouse indicates one of the following:

    G -  Hewlett-Packard HP-UX Itanium (Oracle dynamically linked)

    H -  Hewlett-Packard HP-UX PA RISC 1.1 (Oracle statically linked)

    L -  Red Hat Linux

    M -  Hewlett-Packard 3000 MPE/iX operating system.

    R -  IBM RS6000 system running AIX

    S -  Sun Microsystems system running SunOS/Solaris

    U -  Microsoft Windows/Windows 64-bit

    W -  Microsoft Windows/Windows 32-bit

. Fixed a problem where Warehouse would sometimes abort after

running a script that was started with job scheduling.

.  The 3.02.1591-W release of Warehouse for Windows introduces a simplified installation process.

Installation of the product on Windows is now based on a single self-installing file named setup.exe. When

executed, this file will install Warehouse into the target directory.

Before executing setup.exe, please make sure that the Warehouse system has been quiesced. The processes

to quiesce, in order and with their respective Windows Task Manager Image Names, are :

- Warehouse Servers servicing remote clients (whserv.exe)

- local Warehouse Clients (wh.exe)

- the Warehouse Service itself (whstart.exe), use the Windows Services Manager

Double-click on setup.exe to start the installation. You will be given the option of selecting a target directory.

This directory can be either the default C:\Program Files\Taurus\Warehouse or a non-default one of your choosing.

All other existing pre- and post-intallation steps, including setting the correct permissions for the Warehouse Server,

remain in effect. These steps are covered in the Warehouse Reference Manual, Chapter 7.

. The banner version number for Warehouse on Windows is 3.02.1591 : this is equivalent to the formal current

release version 3.02.1590

Release 3.02.1590 is available now on all supported platforms.
