Press Release: Amisys Archiving Interface

REDWOOD CITY, CA, August 19, 2004. Taurus Software announced its agreement with Amisys Synertech Inc. (ASI) to provide a high-speed migration process for its customers is in production, and achieving up to 25 gb/hour throughput from Amisys legacy environments to its new Oracle environment.

ASI is the market leader of advanced software products and world-class outsourcing and technology services for healthcare payers. For more than a quarter century, they've focused exclusively on serving the healthcare payer market and deliver proven results.

Two years ago, ASI ported its mission-critical product from the proprietary HP/3000 MPE environment to UNIX, using the Oracle database technology.

To facilitate pain-free extraction-transform-load (ETL) functions between MPE and UNIX, ASI chose DataBridger. This product, developed by Taurus Software provides the unique combination of ease-of-use, flexibility, reliability, and speed their clients needed.

According to Al Gain, VP of Technical Services for ASI, "Our customers have extensive legal data retention requirements, so they accumulate years and years of data. We needed to be able to offer a migration process that allowed them to move to our new Advance application on UNIX in a two day weekend. They just can't afford to be down longer than that."

Taurus and ASI have a long history providing archiving functionality to the Amisys application, and are currently developing a new archiving module for the Advance UNIX application.
