Duluth ’s small but talented information technology (IT) department had long struggled to produce timely, meaningful standardized reports from their Ecometry database, with its myriad of subheads and generic fields.  Ad hoc reports were especially challenging.  And, indeed, all queries against the database had a significant impact on production operations.

Yet with Ecomedate’s powerful data migration tools, Duluth was able to transform the Ecometry data into a robust, easily accessible data warehouse, which then made it simple for the IT team to provide internal customers with fresh, reliable data cubes on a regular basis¾without hours of work, numerous iterations, and without draining production resources.

But when, halfway though their implementation, Halverson and his team were tasked with mapping Ecometry data to the company’s new e-commerce site, the best was yet to come.  Now, in addition to their current work, they had to engineer a near-real-time data exchange between their production system and the Web.
